Growing up in a tight-knit community in rural Georgia, Richard Ellsworth witnessed firsthand the power of neighbors helping neighbors. His grandmother, a schoolteacher who volunteered weekends at the local food pantry, instilled in him the belief that service is not optional—it is essential.
After establishing his career in financial services, Richard returned to community work with renewed purpose. He founded the Ellsworth Community Foundation in 1998, initially focused on providing educational scholarships to underprivileged youth.
