Professional Journey

More than three decades across banking, insurance, investments, entrepreneurship, leadership, education, and community service — shaped by continuous learning and a commitment to helping others succeed.

The Journey

More Than a Career

My professional journey has never followed a perfectly straight line.

It began in banking in Nepal, continued through insurance and investment services in the United States, evolved into entrepreneurship, and eventually became something much larger — an opportunity to teach, mentor, develop leaders, and serve communities.

Looking back, each chapter prepared me for the next. Banking taught me discipline and financial fundamentals. Starting again in America taught me resilience. Financial services taught me entrepreneurship. Leadership taught me that our greatest accomplishments often come through the success of other people.

Today

Success to Significance

My focus continues to evolve from building personal success toward developing leaders, educating families, strengthening communities, and creating an impact that can continue through future generations.

Leadership

Building People

My understanding of leadership has changed over the years.

Early in my career, leadership often meant responsibility — managing operations, making decisions, solving problems, and delivering results. Today, I see leadership differently.

A leader should eventually make other leaders.

For more than a decade, I have consistently conducted trainings, seminars, field-development sessions, and leadership meetings. Some of the accomplishments I value most are not my own titles or production, but watching people I have worked with become successful professionals, leaders, trainers, and entrepreneurs themselves.

Professional Philosophy

Success Should Lead Somewhere

For many years, like most professionals, I worked toward achievement — career advancement, income, business growth, recognition, and financial independence.

Those things matter.

But over time, I began asking a different question:

What is the purpose of success if it ends with me?

That question changed how I view business and leadership.

Today, I believe professional success becomes more meaningful when knowledge is shared, opportunities are created, families become more secure, leaders are developed, and someone else's life improves because our paths crossed.

Being successful is one thing. Helping others become successful is significance.

Entrepreneurship

Building Something of My Own

Sagun Financials represents an important part of my entrepreneurial journey.

What began as a financial-services business has grown into an organization serving approximately 1,500 individual clients while helping families navigate some of life's most important financial decisions.

My long-term vision extends beyond production. I want to build an organization known for education, integrity, technology, professional development, and creating opportunities for independent financial professionals.

Awards & Recognition

Milestones Along the Way

Recognition has never been the ultimate purpose of my work, but I receive it with gratitude because every achievement represents the support of clients, colleagues, mentors, team members, family, and community.

Recognition Is Shared

I have never believed that meaningful achievement belongs entirely to one person.

Behind every award are people who trusted me.

Clients who allowed me to serve them. Team members who worked alongside me. Mentors who taught me. Family members who supported the long hours. Community members who gave me opportunities to serve.

That is why I view recognition not simply as something to display, but as a reminder of responsibility.

Achievement should create gratitude. Gratitude should create contribution.

What Experience Has Taught Me

The Lessons I Carry Forward

After more than three decades of professional life, I have learned that knowledge matters — but character matters more.

Titles matter — but what you do with them matters more.

Income matters — but what your success allows you to do for others matters more.

And experience matters only when we continue learning from it.

My professional journey is still unfolding. I remain a student, entrepreneur, trainer, mentor, and community member — still learning, still building, and still looking for opportunities to help someone else move forward.

Work on yourself more than you work on your job. As you become more valuable, the opportunities available to you begin to change.

Beyond the Résumé

From Achievement to Impact

When my professional journey eventually becomes a completed chapter, I do not want it remembered simply through positions held, policies written, production achieved, awards earned, or businesses built.

I would rather be remembered through people.

Those are the achievements that do not fit neatly on a résumé — and perhaps those are the ones that matter most.
